HOW THE PROCSES WORKS

When working directly with photographers, I most of the time work "behind-the-scenes," meaning that you would send your images to me, I design the album, send you the designs, and you forward the designs to your client to proof. The client works completely with you on any changes that they might have and you simply forward those to me to take care of. This way, your client never knows who is designing the album or that someone outside of your studio is working on it.

For the first couple of albums that I do when working with a photographer, I do require that payment is made before I send you any high-resolution designs. I don't mind sending you a low-res sample just to make sure that we are on the right track, but I will not send any high-resolution designs prior to recieving payment. After we have established a good working relationship, we can work out another type of arrangement.

In order to share your images with me, you can either mail me a CD of the images, or you can share them through a photo sharing website I work with called dropbox.com. If you want to go through dropbox, I will set up a folder on my account and share it with you. You will then get an e-mail requesting the share. You will need to create a free account through their website, but it is really quick and easy. Once you have an account set up, you can simply upload the images to the website folder that we are sharing and I will have access to anything you place within the folder. You can also download the dropbox software to your computer so you can just drag and drop the images if that would work easier.

Once you have uploaded a wedding for me to design, I will need to know how many pages and the size of the album, as well as any other important information pertaining to the wedding or to your printing company. If you do not have a printer that you want to use for the albums, I have one that I currently work with for the albums I create for brides. If that is the case, you would simply need to pay me for the album printing before I send it to print. If you would like more information about the printer I use, please contact me.

Designing of the albums can take up to two weeks, but it is normally more around a week to ten days. Once I have the book designed and payment has been recieved, I will send you the high-resolution JPGs to send to the client. If the client has any changes, I will make those and re-send you those JPGs. If you wish to go through my printer, you should recieve the completed album within 2-3 weeks.

SO . . . HOW MANY IMAGES ARE NORMALLY USED FOR WEDDING ALBUMS?

If you aren't sure how many images to send me for each album, I have created a list of my recommended counts. You can always include more or less than what I have listed here, just keep in mind that the more pictures you want included, the more "crowded" the designs become. Also, don't forget to include some close-up images (e.g., the rings, flowers, dress, cake, etc.) because those make great transparent background. I do require that the photographer or bride narrows down the images before sending them to me.

10 pages (20 sides): 45 - 55 images
15 pages (30 sides): 75 - 85 images
20 pages (40 sides): 105 - 115 images
25 pages (50 sides): 135 - 145 images
30 pages (60 sides): 165 - 175 images
35 pages (70 sides): 195 - 205 images
